Joe originally studied marketing back in the mid 1990s, and then took a degree in Business Enterprise. After spending almost two decades in corporate technical, sales and brand roles, Joe set up CATTS Ireland - a Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy practice (www.cattsireland.com) with his wife. His wife and the team of therapists do all the fun therapy stuff, and Joe does all the admin, marketing and IT support. He also set up Brain Drain (http://www.bigbraindrain.com) in 2015 to host and create online courses.
After running his own business for a few years he found that some of his experience and training from a large corporate environment was useful to him, and the practice. Other knowledge and experience, was worth a little less. One of the biggest changes he found was the view of decision making in the larger enterprise, vs the smaller one.
He has applied structured decision making and critical thinking to how they handle major, minor and day to day decisions at CATTS from Day One. By consistently using and bringing this approach to their regular thinking, they have been able to navigate through a difficult economic and social climate over the past years. Without it, they would not still be around.
This course was created to try distill some of the key messages to a format that others can recreate, as well as help setup the foundation for a good repetitive practice of the techniques so that when you have a Make or Break decision in YOUR business, you are better prepared to handle it.
He tries to deliver whatever content or topics he discusses in a light hearted and fun format. Occasionally there are jokes. Even less occasionally they are funny!
